Field of Operation

01/

Community

Starting from the Ministry of Education’s University Social Responsibility (USR) initiative, our center integrates academic coursework with community engagement. We lead students to deeply understand the local cultural and historical context, while encouraging innovative thinking and the realization of local revitalization concepts. Through gradually establishing a diverse network of community partnerships, many courses at Taipei Medical University have been integrated into community learning, nurturing students’ sense of responsibility and practicality.

Our center welcomes proposals for collaboration from local organizations to jointly create communities that promote physical and mental well-being and foster eco-friendly innovation.

02/

Academic

We believe in the power of knowledge, while also understanding the dangers of its misuse. Therefore, the knowledge within our institution must undergo continuous reflection and uphold the spirit of seeking truth. Our center adopts an interdisciplinary approach to research and problem-solving oriented principles along the path of knowledge. It is through interdisciplinary knowledge integration that we avoid the pitfalls of professional narrowness, and through problem-solving orientation that we integrate into the real context of society.

The members of our center consistently adhere to the academic principles of local engagement and international dialogue, continuously publishing numerous academic papers and media columns.

03/

Policy

Our center focuses on the health of the Taiwanese people and ecological sustainability as core concerns. We actively engage in discussions on public policies through collaboration among academia, industry, and government, proposing initiatives based on the academic research findings of our center. We aspire for our center to become a policy platform that integrates perspectives from the humanities and technology, bringing together expertise and experiences from various sources both inside and outside the university to shape policies conducive to the advancement of Taiwan’s technological literacy and industrial development.

In addition to holding regular policy forum events, our center will publish policy blue papers on different themes each year to stimulate public discussions.
